Suspected drunken driver hits parking meters

An allegedly drunken driver drove onto the sidewalk and ran over several parking meters on the ocean side of Pacific Coast Highway and Ocean Avenue Aug. 10, Laguna Beach Police Det. Sgt. Darin Lenyi said.

No one was injured.

There was major damage to the undercarriage of the car, which came to rest on the side of the road, police said.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, Lenyi said.

Intoxicated man removed from city bus

Police were called out to a Laguna Beach city bus for assistance after a man reportedly would not leave the bus on Aug. 10, Det. Lenyi said. The man was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication. The arrest occurred in the 300 block of Broadway.

Pair arrested after search reveals cannabis

A Laguna resident and San Clemente resident were arrested on suspicion of possessing cannabis on the 300 block of Pearl Street Aug. 12, Lenyi said.

After the suspects were allegedly seen drinking in public, a search by police revealed the illegal substance.
