Puckhogs sprint past Kings

Kayden Muzila netted the first four goals for the Puckhogs and went on to finish with five goals overall to power his team to a 7-3 Howe Division triumph over the Kings at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach.

The Puckhogs took a 5-1 lead through two quarters of action before the teams traded goals in the final quarter.

Aron Wong scored the other two goals for the Puckhogs. Manny Banuelos had a match-best four assists and Kayly DeJongh also had an assist.

Jason Ferrall had 29 saves.

Noah Charnell scored the first goal for the Kings and Jason Saenz slapped in the final two. Savannah Patton had an assist.

In other Howe Division action:

TnT 5, Skulls 2

Joshua Swafford scored twice and assisted a third goal as TnT skated past the Skulls.

Adam Hess also tallied two goals and Evan Hess scored once. Tyler Allen recorded 20 saves.

Ethan Higbee and Paige Gast both scored for the Skulls, Kyle Christi assisted both goals and Craig Wellander finished with 22 saves.

Thrashers 8, Stars 3

The Thrashers thrashed their way for seven goals over the final two quarters of play to pull past the Stars.

Jared Novakovich led the scoring with three goals. Travis Hunter scored twice and Drew Sorbom, Johnny Richardson and Austin Gearty each scored once.

Richardson led the team in assists with three.

Matthew Moore scored all three goals for the Stars, one set up by a feed from Andrew Taomina.
