MABLE ALICE WILLIAMSON

A memorial service is scheduled Saturday for longtime Costa Mesa resident Mable Alice Williamson. She died of cancer Aug. 24 in Lake Forest. She was 89.

Born March 28, 1917, in Marion, Kan., Williamson owned and operated the Williamson Variety store in Huntington Beach from 1945 to 1964. She loved cake decorating and owned the Frosting House, a cake supply and instruction business, in Costa Mesa from 1963 until she retired.

Williamson also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading and attending family sports events. She had lived in Costa Mesa since 1941.

Williamson is survived by her daughters, Marianne Berg and Judith Zavala; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and her daughter-in-law, Sharon Williamson.

A service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Harbor Lawn-Mt. Olive Memorial Park, 1625 Gisler Ave., Costa Mesa.
