    YACHT EXPO

    The 28th annual Lido Yacht Expo returns to Lido Marina Village in Newport Beach for four days in September. Shoppers looking for big boats will find plenty to choose from; more than 70 percent of the boats on exhibit are in the 40-feet class and above, and more than one-third of them are yachts 50 feet or larger. Many of the exhibits are new 2006 and 2007 models. Show hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.     ‘DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS’

    The Orange County Performing Arts Center presents “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels” in Segerstrom Hall. The play tells the story of two con men living on the French Riviera and stars Norbert Leo Butz, a Tony-award winner, and Tony-nominated Tom Hewitt. Performance times are Tuesdays through Fridays at 7:30 p.m., Saturdays at 2 and 7:30 p.m., and Sundays at 1 and 6:30 p.m. Tickets range from $22 to $72, and are available at the arts center’s box office, 600 Town Center Dr., Costa Mesa; by calling (714) 556-2787; or go to www.ocpac.org.

    Orange Coast College will open its 22nd anniversary season this fall with the dark comedy “Dreaming of Norton.” The play follows two insurance claims adjusters on the heels of a Kansas hailstorm.     PERSIAN FESTIVAL

    Enjoy ancestral dances, Persian customs, arts and crafts, live musical entertainment and taste Persian food at the Mehregan Persian Festival this weekend at the Orange County Fair & Expo Center in Costa Mesa.
