SAN CLEMENTE — The Corona del Mar High girls’ volleyball team to a 25-17, 25-22, 25-19 nonleague victory over host San Clemente on Tuesday.

Seniors Julian Piggott and Kelly Christian led the Sea Kings (2-1) with 14 kills each.

Junior Jamie Lawson had a team-high 20 assists and Christian chipped in 17 assists.

Calvary Chapel def. Sage Hill

MURRIETTA — The Lightning fell, 25-20, 23-25, 25-13, 20-25, 15-10, in the nonleague contest Tuesday.

The Lightning (3-4) were without senior setter Kelsey Lawler, who has an injured toe, but freshman Lindsey Kish filled in admirably, supplying 18 assists and 10 digs.

Junior Colleen Heyler led the Lightning with 10 kills.

RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA — John Roche scored a team-high five goals and Scott Neslage kept the Mustangs (1-1) in the game with 17 saves.

COSTA MESA — Juniors Josh Young, Raman Tashbihchi and Jeff Crosson each scored a goal for the Eagles in their season opener.

FOUNTAIN VALLEY — Bridget Gleason and Caroline Clements tied for medalist honors by shooting three-over-par 39 in a nonleague match at Mile Square Golf Course Wednesday.

Lina You (43), Taylor West (45) and Avery Williams (46) all scored for the Eagles (3-0).

IRVINE — The Lightning fell to 1-1 with a nonleague loss Tuesday at Rancho San Joaquin Golf Course.

Sophomore Kelsey Venditozzi (11-over-par 47) had the low round for Sage Hill.

WEST HILLS — Sailors’ goalie Jessica Pizarek kept the score close with 18 saves.

Clea O’Kieffe, Lauren Nordstrom and Annabelle Storch played strong defense, Coach Devon Kelly said.

The Tars won three games and tied another in the recent Los Angeles Field Hockey Assn. Tournament.
