Laguna’s performance was an “excellent start,” to the season, Coach Dave Brobeck said of the boys’ program. Laguna’s freshman team won its division, and the sophomore quad finished in fourth-place.

In girls’ cross-country, Laguna opened its season last Saturday by competing at the Fastback Invitational at Mount SAC. Senior Alex Crawley was the top finisher for the Breakers with a time of 12:23, good for a fifth-place finish.

On Saturday, both the Laguna boys’ and girls’ teams will run at the Woodbridge Invitational, the second-largest cross-country meet in the nation.

Laguna’s boys varsity team has been invited to run in the “seeded” race that will take place under the course lights at 8:55 p.m., Brobeck said.

Crawley will run in the girls’ Sweepstakes race also that night, Laguna girls’ coach Earl Towner said.
