Koll Co. buys office in Texas for $29.8 million

The Newport Beach-based Koll Co. announced Tuesday its $29.8-million purchase of Greenhill Park, an office building in Addison, Texas.

This will be the first Dallas-area property the real estate acquisition, development and management firm has had stakes in.

The Class A property includes more than 248,000 square feet of space, including a 12-story tower and three-story garden office building.

It becomes part of the 12 Class A office properties Koll is purchasing from Denver-based AmeriVest Properties, which is liquidating its holdings.

The properties total more than 1.7 million square feet in Texas, Arizona and Colorado for a total of $273 million.

Greenhill Park is the first in the portfolio to close under the purchase and sale agreement.

Class A properties are considered those built after 1980 and are more than 100,000 square feet in top business districts.

TriZetto announces merger, settlement

Newport Beach-based TriZetto Group Inc. announced Wednesday its acquisition of Quality Care Solutions Inc., a private healthcare software company.

Both boards of directors have approved the merger, but it is still pending regulatory approval and other conditions. The deal is supposed to be finalized during this year’s fourth quarter.

The announcement comes a day after TriZetto announced its settlement agreement with McKesson Information Solutions LLC for allegedly selling clinical editing software products that infringed on a patent held by McKesson.

TriZetto is an information technology solutions company that deals with the insured population of the United States.

Web firm receives All Star Award

Newport Beach-based Argus Interactive Agency Inc. announced Wednesday it received the 2006 Ektron All Star Award for its website and Web content management.

The company and its partner David Riley Associates received the award for their work on RBC Ministries website, www.rbc.org, which was named Best Nonprofit Site.

Criteria for the award include meeting business and technical goals, advanced online strategies, visitor satisfaction and if the site produced returns on the investment.

Costa Mesa chamber seeks ambassadors

The Costa Mesa Chamber of Commerce is looking for ambassadors for chamber events.

Chamber members are eligible for the position and the duties include meeting and greeting visitors at events, being a representative of the chamber in the community and meeting new business owners at ribbon cuttings.

New maps of Costa Mesa available

The Costa Mesa Chamber of Commerce has new maps available.

Members helped contribute money for the maps through advertising dollars and were created for visitors and tourists, local businesses, newcomers, Realtors and other organizations.

To pick up a copy, visit the office from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday at 1700 Adams Ave., Costa Mesa.

Degam MedSpa names new spa director

Newport Beach Degäm MedSpa appointed Emily Uhrik of Irvine as the new spa director.

Uhrik will be responsible for the spa’s day-to-day operations, supervising sales and front office staff and working with the medical director.

Uhrik is a UC Irvine graduate and a certified aesthetician. Her professional experience includes business leadership and aesthetic training as she worked in the med-spa industry.

Degäm MedSpa is a 25,000-square-foot facility providing minimally invasive spa and medical procedures conducted by plastic surgeons, dentists and other healthcare professionals.

Cookbook contest deadline is near

The deadline for nonprofit organizations to submit their community cookbooks to the 17th annual Tabasco Community Cookbook Awards is Sept. 29.

No Newport-Mesa organization has claimed the title in the last seven years and the contest is open to any who have published cookbooks for fundraising in 2005 or 2006.

Winners will receive $2,500 for first place, $1,000 for second and $750 for third to go to their charity. Six regional awards will be given with each receiving $500.
