Woodbridge Invitational

IRVINE — Sage Hill School placed 11th out of 48 teams in the junior boys’ race on the three-mile course Saturday.

Connor Rose was second in 15 minutes, 51 seconds, and Sean McElroy (16:35) was 14th.

Rose’s time set a school record, breaking his week-old mark set at the Laguna Hills Invitational.

Sage Hill’s Lion Wintemute (17:16) was 13th in the freshman boys’ race.

The Lightning were also 13th out of 47 teams in the girls’ varsity race.

Cait Williamson (19:09) set a school record and placed 22nd, and Aiyana Bobrownicki (19:22) was 32nd.

GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL

Pomona Tournament

POMONA — Estancia High finished 5-1 in the three-day tournament completed Saturday at Pomona High.

The Eagles (5-2) won their final two matches after a loss bumped them into the consolation bracket.

Estancia defeated Walnut, 25-21, 25-14, 25-19.

Annie Tomasek had 12 kills, while Jaye Hellmich had 10.

The Eagles defeated Pomona, 19-25, 25-14, 26-24, 25-23. Hellmich led with 18 kills and Tomasek had 15.

Olivia Schow had five blocks.

The Eagles’ lone loss came to Wilson of Hacienda Heights, 25-16, 25-11, 18-25, 15-25, 15-8.
