Girls under 14

Costa Mesa Code Red 3, CdM 0: Code Red displayed solid defense from first-half goalie Hayley Smith and fullbacks Jenna Nava, Sydney Caffey, Jessica Oseguera and Jillian Tanner. Brooke Wanbaugh scored Costa Mesa’s first goal, and Vanessa Corona scored twice.

Girls under 10

Red Warriors 1, Fast & Furious 0: Red Warriors forward Olivia LeValley scored the only goal, after teammate Steffani Nava’s shot had hit the post. Olivia Warner was brilliant in goal for the Red Warriors while Natalie Brown, Kirsten Gyorgy and Cianna Tanner played shutout defense.

Boys under 10

Fire Breathing Dragons 4, Tidal Waves 2: Fire Breathing Dragons strikers Cameron Curet and Alex Petrecca scored three combined goals in the first half, and the team gained good defense from Griffin Barlow, Juan Calderon, John Gekchyan, Andy Torres and goalie Gavin Hunn helped the Dragons. Brandon Varela scored the Dragons’ final goal and Greg Gekchyan, Joshua Paredes and Jonathan Espinoza also played well.

Boys under 8

CalTrans Tigers, American Flyers: Nicholas Loveland, Carlos Pedroza, Brian Chelini and Jagger Joyner played strong defense for the Tigers, while Dawit Habteab, Scott McCellan and Chas Donnelly controlled the midfield and Joshua Beanes played well in goal.

For the Flyers, Anthony Dorado showed good speed, George Miller played effectively in the midfield and Grant Christensen and Charlie Godshall held a tight line on defense. Goalie Matthew Miller also stood out.

Girls under 6

Purple Puppies, Shooting Stars: The Purple Puppies got goals from Lilli Rask, Allison O’Heany and Emily Hoffman and excellent passing from Sofia Palma. On defense, the Puppies were led by Kelsey Bond, Erica Lopes and Lexi Alvarez.

Boys under 6

Tigers, Blue Rockets: For the Tigers, Jonathan Suarez, Nathan Hayes and Nathan Guyot all scored two goals apiece, while Nicholas Vargo and Kevin Johnson both scored once. Ethan McHenry tallied several assists.

Girls under 14

Breakers, Team Red: Sydney Clayton, Christina Young, Sydney Groves, Bridget Lyons and Shannon Wagner all scored for the Breakers, with assists to Groves and Celina Boldt. Defensively for the Breakers, Lauren Bartolic, Maddie Shepherd and Alex Chandler helped hold Team Red to just three shots on goal.

Girls under 12

Chilly Peppers 2, Johnson 2: Olivia Muscatello scored two early goals for the Chilly Peppers, but Johnson rallied for the tie. Brenda Luna, Rebekah Foster, Andrea Ocampo and Tyler Ocampo aided the Chilly Peppers’ attack, while the defense was anchored by Taylor Chapin, Jenna Jarvis, Sarah Whitney and Hailey Oberst.

Girls under 11

Cherry Bombs: Christina Arechingo scored the first goal, assisted by Savannah Vrbas, and Rosalie Deliz punched in the second goal. Goalie Kellie Melendres played well and Emily Cook, Bailey Rieke and Ashley Harris made strong defensive plays.

Girls under 10

NB Breakers 5, Costa Mesa 0: Sophia Jefferies scored two early goals in the Breakers win, on assists from Brooke Zachary and Brianna Mahaney. Katie Duhox, Libby Knight and Haley Burg also scored for the Breakers, with the defense of Sammie Yeager, Toni Holland and Cassidy McCullough also strong.

Blue Army Angels, Highlighters: Samantha Ludes scored a goal for the Angels, with Kristen Kiehnle and Chelsie Baker also attacking. Payten Groves and Paige Fults passed well, while Caroline Gels, Brooke Hinton, Claire Olmstead and Hannah Joyce led the Angels’ defense.

Boys under 10

Stingrays 3, Blue Crush 1: Stingrays forward Luke Mueller scored two goals and Holden Curren added another, also making several stops as first-half goalie. Ryan Young, Sargis Srapyan and Hunter White all made good passes for the Stingrays. Forward George Paspaloff scored for the Blue Crush.

M&M; Dudes: Patrick Halle scored for the M&M; Dudes, and John Connelly played solid defense. Dakota Dodge, Liam Tough, Lindsey Troupe and Riley Gaddis all had good shots on goal, and Sam Launder, Sam Miller, Seth Eckblad and Jonathan Richards also played well.

Orange Day: Alejandro Solis scored twice and Connor Lindenstadt added a goal for Orange Day, while Joel Mendez, PJ Boyd, Ryan Standt, Christopher Huntley and goalie Blake Jessen played good defense.

Girls under 8

Red Hot Chili Peppers: Julie Doyle and Erika Ellis scored goals for the Chili Peppers while defenders Sienna Amoroso, Lauren Henke and Laura Mackenzie also played well. Midfielders Destry Comp, Rayna Richardson and Heather Roberts hustled and forwards Alyssa Wilkens and Julia Ackerman also excelled.

Boys under 8

Irish Bulldogs, Red Devils: The Bulldogs’ Jack McClintock had three goals, A.J. Roth added a goal and Chandler Siemonsma, Tom Phillips, Zachary Durham and Kamran Siddiqi also played tough on offense. Bulldogs defenders Fara Lependu, Robbie Gehring and Colin Avery played well, as did goalies Alex Davis and Cameron Fournier.

Girls under 7

Mighty Dragons, Pink Panthers: Claire Covina scored a late goal for the Dragons, with assists from Carly Robinson and Betsy Calder. Paxton Bryant, Eva Nadeau, Dinny Stevens and Kate La Grandeur all played good defense for the Dragons, while Carly Cox and Lara Farinsky showed good teamwork.

Newborn Puppies, Green Geckos: Skylar Alexander played good offense and defense for the Puppies, and Kailyn Kramer showed stamina. Jordan Golden, Miranda McCormick, Holly Nance, Saylor Nedelman and Sydney Palmer all also stood out for the Puppies.

Boys under 7

Green-Faced Goblins, Strikers: Tanner Shallahamer scored the Goblins’ only goal, while Cole Schneider, Matthew Carney, Roy Manwell, Tommy Hanwell and goalies Dillon Lippman and Nick Halphide played good defense. Wills Cook and goalie Blake Richter led the Strikers on defense, while Mason Zavala and Conor Houlihan did well on offense. Midfielders Cameron Weiss and Zachary Harmer were also strong.

Dragons: Vincent Rubino scored a breakaway goal, and Christopher Cornell, Hunter Hall, Mason McPhie, Casey Nelson and Andrew Wolfe were solid on defense. Goalies Carter Bays and Domenic Christiansen also shined.

Fire Balls: Matthew Weiss scored goals, and Marcus Croxson, Rory Sever, Aidan Steinke, Dominic Patino and Trevor Cislaw played well at offense and defense. Fernando Monroy, Seth Roberts and Paolo Carrillo-Weisenburger all shared time at goalie.

Girls under 5

Teeny Wahine, Lemon Drops: Lauren Dewan scored the Wahines’ first goal, assisted by Elizabeth Aston. Olivia Belida scored on a breakaway for the Wahines, and Jane Bradbury, Aston and Dewan all added goals.

Purple Flower Power, Drama Queens: Purple Flower Power’s Tyesha Lazcano, Trinity Goff, Kate Honda and Lexi Petrie showed good enthusiasm during the game. Caroline Farley, Isabella Swart and Allison Woodward all scored goals for the Drama Queens, with Maile Burns adding two assists.

Girls under 12

Pink Bullets 1, Silver Bullets 0: The Pink Bullets got the win on late goal by forward Sarah Hoppe. Pink Bullets forwards Keaton Bassler and Marisa Remo also applied pressure, along with halfbacks Miranda Reenan and Alexandra Maister. Lindsey Valentine, Caitlyn Johnson and Heather Johnson played well at midfield for the Pink Bullets. Defenders Ericka Lynn-Green, Rahel Kaushaar, Emilie Jajonie, Rachel Howes and goalie Megan Crane kept the potent Silver Bullets offense at bay.

Boys under 8

Green Crushers, Red Flag: Brandon Cargile had a hat trick for the Green Crushers, with assists coming from Cole Sudeck and Garin Fridman. Darrah Shaygan also scored and goalies Ryan St. John, Ethan Spark and Logan Niedermayer made some big saves. Green Crushers defenders Matthew Hamadani and Jordan Heinemann and midfielder Ethan Sparks also played well.
