Lt. Troy Treaccar of Newport Beach — part of the command staff aboard Boxer, an amphibious assault ship and flagship for the Navy’s Expeditionary Strike Group 5 — left the San Diego Naval Base on Sept. 13 for a six-month deployment in support of the war on terrorism.
