Invaders score over Thunder

The Invaders and Thunder combined for 20 goals in their Patrick Division match at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach, and it was the Invaders who were able to hold on for an 11-9 victory.

Matt Korn and Justin Pederson each scored three goals to lead an Invaders offense that included two scores from Daniel Reed and single goals by Trevor Evans and Brandon Drochner.

Reed also had three assists and Evans two. Corey DeMatteo recorded 17 saves.

Tyler Estes’ four goals paced the Thunder. Trevor Scott had a goal and two assists and Jacob Gonzales, Corey Jones and Tristan DeBoom each scored once. Bradley Grote had 20 saves.

Division action:

Wayne’s World 2 10, Stampede 5

Wayne’s World 2 opened up a 7-2 lead through two quarters and went on to defeat the Stampede.

Chas Scott netted four goals and assisted another, and Nick Hansen scored three times and had two assists, to lead Wayne’s World 2 on offense. Single goals were scored by Michael Manoukian, Eric Grant and Robert Oliver. Timothy Francis had a pair of assists and Brandon Jones had 16 saves.

Taylor Song scored twice, Bobby Sowma had a goal and two assists, Brendan Heaslet each scored once and Nathan Bergeron had 19 saves for the Stampede.

Storm 13, Jaguars 5

The Storm burned the net for eight goals in the final quarter to pull past the Jaguars.

Michael Gutierrez scored four goals and Cameron Marino three to lead the Storm. Shea Haselhorst and Kyle Morrill each scored twice and Jeffrey Wong and Max Olin each scored once. Wong also had three assists and Gutierrez and Haselhorst each had two.

Joshua Fowler had 17 saves.

Spencer Baldwin scored twice with an assist, Erich Post Jr. scored twice, Richard Killian had a goal and Casey Childers finished with 16 saves.
