ROSH HASHANAH SERVICES

Services celebrating Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, will be held at several temples in the area.

Temple Bat Yahm, located at 1011 Camelback St., Newport Beach, will have a family and community service on Saturday morning, Sept. 23, at 9 a.m., as well as a traditional service at 10:45 a.m. For reservations and information, call (949) 644-1999.

The Chabad Jewish Center-Newport Beach will hold services at the Hyatt Regency Newport Beach, located at 1107 Jamboree Rd., Newport Beach. There will be morning services on Saturday, Sept. 23, at 10 a.m., and Sunday, Sept. 24, at 10 a.m.

BLUE LIKE JAZZ

Three Trees Theatre, a local theater company formed by members from five Orange County churches, will repeat performances of its stage adaptation of “Blue Like Jazz,” based on the best-selling novel by Donald Miller, throughout September at The Box at Rock Harbor. ZEN MEDITATION

The Zen Center of Orange County is offering a six-week Zen JumpStart program on Tuesday nights from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., through Oct. 24. The Center for Spiritual Discovery in Costa Mesa invites everyone to attend “Friendship Sunday,” a special celebration of friends and family on the third Sunday of each month.
