The girlfriend of a Compton man who was arrested this week on suspicion of killing one man and injuring four others in a drive-by shooting pleaded not guilty Friday to charges that she was involved in the incident.

Rachel Lauren Salorio, 22, of Irvine was arraigned Friday and charged with accessory to murder. Her pretrial hearing is scheduled for Oct. 6.

Like her 22-year-old boyfriend, Joshua Anthony Blount, her bail was set at $1 million.

Blount was arrested Tuesday in Hawthorne and charged on Thursday with suspicion of murder with a special circumstance allegation that he used a gun.

Salorio was arrested on Wednesday after she visited Blount in jail in Costa Mesa.

Blount appeared in court Thursday, but did not enter a plea. His arraignment was rescheduled for Oct. 13.

He is accused of killing 23-year-old Israel Maciel of Costa Mesa in an alley off the 1300 block of West Baker Street. Four others were hurt in the shooting.
