GIRLS’ TENNIS

Prep School Invitational

NEWPORT BEACH — Sage Hill School won the four-team tournament it hosted at the Balboa Bay Racquet Club on Saturday.

The Lightning (13-0) defeated The Bishop’s of La Jolla, 15-3, for the title and also beat Capistrano Valley Christia, 13-5, in the semifinals.

Sage Hill’s Sarah Geocaris, Stephanie Langer, Ashley Adams and Jaclyn Smrecek earned all-tournament honors.

GIRLS’ CROSS COUNTRY

Clovis Invitational

FRESNO — Newport Harbor finished fifth in the championship division that included 18 schools at the 3.1-mile course at Woodward Park Saturday.

Melissa Mead led the Sailors, finishing 15th in 18 minutes, 46 seconds. Sophia Ditty (35th in 19:21), Taylor Bryson (41st in 19:32), Desiree Alexander (43rd in 19:38), Jennifer Cain (52nd in 19:54) and Lauren Maddox (56th in 19:59) followed.

Clovis Invitational

FRESNO — Estancia came in third place in Division IV, that included 33 schools at Woodard Park on Saturday.

Alexa Aguilar finished 17th in 20:01 to lead the Eagles. Sidney Barloon (23rd in 20:12), Paula Negrete (24th in 20:15), Cindy Ramirez (34th in 20:460, Eunice Rodriguez (36th in 20:48), Magali Onofre (47th in 21:06) and Karina Rios (126th in 24:02) also contributed.

GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL

La Jolla Tournament

LA JOLLA — Estancia finished 12th in the 36-team, two-day tournament that had a best-of-three format.

The Eagles lost to Esperanza and Santa Fe Christian in two games, but beat Baldwin of Pennsylvania in two.

Jaye Hellmich led with 17 kills in the three matches and setter Stacie Watson dished out 37 assists on Saturday.

BOYS’ WATER POLO

Costa Mesa 8, Tustin 6

TUSTIN — Andrew Millian, John Roche and Cody Serrano scored two goals each in the Mustangs’ nonleague win on Saturday.

Goalie Scott Neslage recorded 15 saves for the Mustangs (4-5).
