COSTA MESA — Allie Nelson and Nichole Huff scored two goals within the final 20 minutes to give the Pirates the Orange Empire Conference win Tuesday.

Nelson scored an unassisted goal in the 70th minute, and Huff headed in a pass from Melissa Wiesz five minutes later. OCC (8-5, 5-3 in conference) outshot Golden West, 27-1. Vanguard 1, Westmont 1

SANTA BARBARA — Rachel Housepian scored on an assist from Heather Hutton in the 83rd minute to help the Lions tie in the Golden State Athletic Conference match.

Vanguard goalie Marissa Swift had seven saves.

FAIRFAX — UC Irvine finished in a tie for fifth place at The Meadow Club.

UC Berkeley won the 15-team tournament with a 54-hole total of 826. The Anteaters tied with UC Davis with 857.

UCI senior Jay Chose finished fifth at 4-under 209 and Brian Edick was 19th at 214. Freshman John Chin finished 25th at 216, Sean Shahi was 35th at 218 and Derek Uyesaka placed 77th at 231.

COSTA MESA — The Lions swept The Master’s College, 30-26, 33-31, 30-22, in a GSAC match.

Kim Wynn and Kelsey Wirt each had 13 kills for Vanguard (10-9, 3-8 in conference), and Shardai Sublett had 11. Breeann Peterson had 40 assists, 10 digs and two aces.
