    2006 CALIFORNIA BIENNIAL

    The Orange County Museum of Art presents the 2006 California Biennial, an event with over 150 works consisting of large-scale installations, sculpture, paintings, works on paper, wall drawing, photographs, film and video art. Exhibition will be in Newport Beach location, at 850 San Clemente Drive, and in Costa Mesa at 3333 Bear St. Hours vary.

    EARN YOUR BADGE

    The Girl Scout Council of Orange County presents its 2006 Urban Adventure, Black and White Badge Bash at the Turnip Rose in Costa Mesa from 6 to 10 p.m. Guests at this adult-only fundraiser will try to earn one-of-a kind badges by testing their skills at activities including martini-making, cigar-rolling, and pizza-tossing, while enjoying cocktails, food, a live band and silent auction.     More Magazine and Wilhemina Models is looking for women over 40 to be their next cover girl. Talbots at South Coast Plaza, 3333 Bristol St., Costa Mesa is hosting the competition from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The day’s events include a fashion show, raffle prizes and free makeup and hair consultations.     BAND TOURNAMENT

    Come out and support high school music programs at the South Coast Invitational Marching Band Tournament hosted by Costa Mesa High School.     BACKBAY WALKING TOUR

    The Naturalists and Friends of Newport Bay encourage visitors to experience the wildlife and plants of the Upper Newport Bay Ecological Reserve on this free guided tour. Tours begin at 9 a.m. at the corner of East Bluff Dr. and Back Bay Rd., and last approximately two hours. The walk is on a paved route, and moves at an easy pace, but wear comfortable shoes.
