Girls under 14

Newport Beach Paradise 1, Newport Beach Green Beans 0: Tamera Myers scored the winning goal late for the Paradise, assisted by Merry Schneider. Graci Bebeau, Nicole Zielinski, Kimberly Ficenec, Kimberly Watanabe and goalie Meghan Nance led the Paradise defense. Offensive players Megan Case and Hannah Beek, as well as midfielders Cory Darling, Skylar Hansen, Samantha Parisi and Tiara Landrigan, also played strong.

Girls under 12

Double Bubble 5, Patriots 1: Katie Gaitan and Lauren Halle each scored two goals and Michelle Brookes added another for Double Bubble, with Kailen Locke tallying an assist. Brittany Walker, Lauren Yee and Carly Strutner also showed great passing and communication skills on offense. Defensively, Elyssa Barnett had long kicks and Sydney Elliott-Brand, Breyanna Komadina and Alex Palmer showed great speed and hustle. Goalies Medley Andrade and Sara Bradbury held the Patriots to only one goal.

Boys under 12

Chargers 4, Vipers 2: Charlie Pena, Mike Reo and Max Gamboa all scored for the Chargers, with offensive support from David Munoz, Will Laidlaw, Marcell De Barros and Seth Seidel. The defense was led by goalie Trevor Conway, Josh Ford, Sam Jones, CJ Conlan, Peter Doyle and Ian Mac Innis.

Girls under 11 (APP) Cherry Bombs 3, Mission Viejo 2: The Cherry Bombs earned the come-from-behind win with goals from Christina Arechigo, Nicole Fitzsimons and Kendall Lindsay in the last 10 minutes of the game. Nikki Walsh, Lea Phillips, Makayla Swies, Rosalie Deliz and Savannah Vrbas all provided offensive support. Katelyn Mead and Kathryn De La Torre controlled the midfield, and Emily Cook and Bailey Rieke played great defense for the Cherry Bombs, as did Kellie Melendres in goal.

Girls under 10 (APP)

Newport Beach Breakers 5, Tustin 0: Carlee Kapana and Natalie Ward scored their first goals of the season, leading the Breakers to the shutout win. Striker Libby Knight scored a hat trick, on assists from Sophia Jefferies and Leah Castillo, to give Newport a 3-0 lead. Toni Holland also had an assist and defenders Haley Burg, Brianna Mahaney, sweeper Brooke Zachary and goalie Cassidy McCullough were strong.

Girls under 10

Pink Panthers 2, Taxi 1: Lauren Loucks scored the game’s first goal, then Kate Yasko scored the winner for the Panthers, assisted by Hannah Doolin and Hannah Sanders. First-half goalie Oliver Jones and defenders Julianna Eifler, Emily Halphide, Isabel Leveque and Stephanie Navarro were strong. Katya Farinski, Marina Knutsen and Ellie Zielinski provided quality passes and crosses for the Panthers, and Noelle Hubbard had solid goalkeeping in the fourth quarter.

Red Angels 4, Teal Seals 0: Emma Griffith scored three goals, assisted twice by Katie Conway and once by Lauren Bibb. Delaney Gastineau also scored for the Angels, who also had several breakaway runs from Kekai Whitford. Angels defenders Hannah Tucker, Kristin Watanabe, Katie Kearns, Rachel Whitelegge and Courtney Cunningham all played well, as did Caylee Talbot and Kierstyn Yardley.

Blue Angels 2, Hot Cheetos 1: Excellent passing from Lindzy Konrad and Molly McCunniff led to the Blue Angels’ first goal, when Kendall Cosenza scored on a crossing pass. Striker Daniella Carrase also scored the winning goal for the Blue Angels, who got nice defense from Olivia Sever, Emily Fay and goalie Logan Grove.

Girls under 8

Red Hot Chili Peppers vs. Red Hot Rockers: Julia Ackerman and Erika Ellis scored twice for the Chili Peppers, who also got goals from Laura Mackenzie and Julie Doyle. Defenders Sienna Amoroso and Rayna Richardson played well for the Peppers, Lauren Henke played tough in goal and Destry Comp had great dribbling and passing. Heather Roberts and Alyssa Wilkens also stood out.

Boys under 8

Irish Bulldogs 0, Chargers 0: Bulldog goalie Chandler Siemonsma helped lead the defense, while Tom Phillips, Fara Lependu and A.J. Roth also played well defensively. Robbie Gehring and Colin Avary did well kicking the ball back into Charger territory. On offense for the Bulldogs, Zach Durham, Cameron Fournier and Jack McClintock controlled the ball well, but were stopped by Chargers defenders Mason Lindh, Spencer Neal and Sam Wertheimer.

Girls under 7

Newborn Puppies vs. Pink Panthers: For the Puppies, Holly Nance, Tristen and Riley Warmington, Skylar Alexander, Sydney Palmer and Jordan Golden showed speed and stamina against an aggressive opponent. Kailyn Kramer, Saylor Nedelman, Miranda McCormick and Jordan Golden were fearless goalies, preventing many scores.

Mighty Dragons vs. Pink Flames: Goalies Betsy Calder, Kate LaGrandeur and Carly Cox led the Dragons. Paxton Bryant, Lara Farinsky and Carly Robinson played solid defense, with great offensive moves by Eva Nadeau. Dinny Stevens showed excellent footwork, assisting Claire Covina for two goals.

Boys under 7

Goblins vs. Dragons: Nick Halphide and Dillon Lippman played well in the Goblins’ goal, as Lippman made five saves. Cole Schneider got his foot on the ball several times, as did Nicholas Nataupsky and Roy Manfield. Matthew Carney demonstrated great ball skills, and Tommy Hanle, Tanner Shallahamer and Scott Ryder all scored goals.

Gladiators vs. Hot Tamales: Dylan Davis, Joshua Gehlke and Max Lamb moved the ball well for the Gladiators. Nathan Medina, Kyle Buenrostro and Tanner Casey blocked and tackled well on the field. Gates Johnson and Lucas Heil saved many shots in goal, and Alex Cruz scored for the Gladiators.

Rippin’ Waves vs. Strikers: The Rippin’ Waves had a great save in goal by Dax Maxwell and scoring opportunities from Scott Siecinski, Sean Waterman and Joey McClurg. They also used great defense by Lucas Ovalle and Zachary Dethloff, as well as great all-around efforts by Brent Valentine, Antoine Jackson and Hayden Schott.

Fire Balls vs. Vipers: Fernando Monroy scored twice for the Fire Balls, assisted by Matthew Weiss and Rory Sever. Seth Roberts saved several shots in goal, Marcus Croxson attacked effectively and Aidan Steinke, Trevor Cislaw and Dominic Patino were strong defenders for the Fire Balls.

The Vipers also played well, with Jantzen Fenn scoring his first goal of the season and Cole McFetters adding three more. Justin Shollin had several shots on goal, and Reid Crandell, Griffin Brockhoff and Sam Matt covered the midfield well. Joe Loubet, Tyler Muir, Cody Campbell and Noah Christensen all made strong kicks for the Vipers and played strong.

Vipers vs. Firebirds: Tyler Muir and Cole McFetters scored Vipers goals, with Reid Crandell adding a strong offensive effort. Noah Christensen made several strong kicks, Griffin Brockhoff and Sam Matt covered the midfield with several steals and Justin Shollin and Cody Campbell played tough defense. Jantzen Feen and Joe Loubet also played well for the Vipers.

Boys under 6

Green Raptors vs. Go Gladiators: The Green Raptors consistently defended their goal, led by defenders Joshua Locke and Will Vasquez. David Wynne, Dominick Buscaglio, Wells Baker and Ty Markings played great offense as the Green Raptors scored three goals.

Girls under 5

Teeny Wahine vs. California Chicks: Olivia Belida, Jane Bradbury and Lauren Dewan all scored goals for Teeny Wahine, and all three were strong on defense. Sarah Franco had a great kickoff, and Elizabeth Aston also made great plays.

Purple Flower Power vs. Power Puff Girls: Ellie Terry used speed and energy to score for Purple Flower Power, and Tyesha Lazcano’s footwork and defense were above average. Lexington Petrie had a nice goal, and Trinity Goff nearly always emerged from the crowd with the ball.

Boys under 14 (APP)

Costa Mesa Eagles 7, Newport 0: Christian Rodriguez scored a first-half hat trick, Jordan Young added two goals and Teddy Prescott and Edgar Vega added goals. Jovany Castillo and Chris Molina made some great defensive plays, pushing the ball up to their teammates. Gilberto Garcia dribbled the ball well up the field and Vega and Rodriguez, in goal, made some nice saves and deflections for Costa Mesa. Richie Bello, celebrating his 14th birthday, had an assist.

Girls under 10

Tigers 1, Sapphires 0: Lauren Grable scored the winning goal for the Tigers, while goalies Jessie Harris and Sterling Brown stopped the Sapphires’ shots. Abigail Klein, Brooke Olson and Kaitlyn Hicks worked the field as forwards, and midfields Sophia Mossman and Ally Hadfield had an awesome game. Lauren Kobayashi and Ally Doherty played a great defensive game. Arabella Watkins cheered her team on while nursing a broken elbow.

Maroon Monsoon 4, Pink Panthers 0: Anneliese Johansson scored two goals for the Maroon Monsoon, and Claire Danner and Isabella Solomon both added goals. They were assisted by Morgan Duss, Annalise Gushue, Caitlyn Harvey and Kira Woods. Madeleine Francis, Katie Chandler and Allison Green consistently moved the ball out of Monsoon territory, and goalies Juliette Bordier-Johnson and Siena Sharf also played well.

Boys under 10

Yellow Jackets 5, Raptors 1: The Yellow Jackets won their fifth straight game with two goals each by Rhodes Garner and Blake Davidson. Strong defense from Ian Fletcher, Brett Davidson, Andy Strader and Blake Danner also helped the Jackets.

Girls under 8

Flash vs. Lava Girls: The Flash led a fast game with goals by Jessica Viale, Haley Hopkins, Gabby Finear, Kaylan Knitowski, Alexa Bonnano and Riley McQuaid. Support from Kelly Lange, Delaney Day, and Kelly Kobayashi kept the game exciting.

Boys under 8

Green Crushers vs. Avalanche: Brandon Cargile, Cole Sudeck and Garin Freidman led the Green Crushers offense, keeping the pressure on until Sudeck scored a goal. Matthew Hamadani and Jordan Heinemann worked hard on defense. Ryan St. John scored directly from a corner kick, and Logan Niedermayer played well in midfield.

Ferraris 3, Green Crushers 1: Brett Super and Chase Furey scored for the Ferraris. Furey and GianLuca Vassalli adding assists. George Hagestad had several saves and kicked the ball to midfield to ignite offensive drives. Alex Munro, Chris Flattum and J.P. Ziegler keyed the defense.

Hot Tamales vs. Surfinators: Wilson Lubeck and Riley Gleason made goals for the Hot Tamales, assisted by strong efforts by Race Chambers, Chase Adelsohn, Ben Toffel, Max Toffel and Evan Hernandez. Game-saving blocks were made by Parker Doyle, Ben Crawford and goalie Jack Frederiksen, and Robbie Moralice played tough defense.
