POLICE FILES - Oct. 27, 2006

The following is from the daily log reports of the Laguna Beach Police Department:

TUESDAY

Diamond Street: A vehicle was reported broken into and a bag of change taken at 8:57 p.m. on the 300 block.

North Main Beach: Three men sitting under an umbrella were allegedly yelling vulgar comments at young girls at 4:53 p.m. on the 200 block.

Park Avenue: Two men allegedly stole a wallet with $200 and credit cards from a woman’s purse at 1:51 p.m. on the 200 block.

Cliff Drive: A person was arrested on suspicion of drinking in public at 10:51 a.m. on the 400 block.

Summit Road: An injured owl was taken into custody at 9:10 a.m. on the 31600 block.

MONDAY

Park Avenue: Cash totaling $130 was reported stolen from a locked student locker at 12:22 p.m. at a school on the 600 block.

Forest Avenue: A bicycle and bicycle chain were reported stolen from a parking structure at 10:53 a.m. on the 300 block.

So. Vista de catalina: In two incidents, the front window of one vehicle was reported broken and a wallet taken, and a wallet was reported taken from another vehicle at 8:41 a.m. on the 00 block.

So. Stonington: A side vehicle window was reported smashed and a change purse taken, and windows were reported smashed on two other vehicles at 7:21 a.m. on the 00 block.

So. Stonington: A vehicle was reported burglarized at 7:39 a.m. on the 00 block.

SUNDAY

Forest Avenue: A $22,000 statue was reported stolen from an art gallery at 5:27 p.m. on the 200 block.

So. Coast Highway: A locked hotel room was reported burglarized, with cash and credit cards taken, at 10:26 a.m. on the 600 block.

SATURDAY

Nyes Place: A San Diego man was arrested on suspicion of DUI after an alleged altercation with a bartender at 11:37 p.m. at Victoria Place.

Ocean Front: A worker reportedly fell off a two-story building at 1:44 p.m. on the 1200 block.

Louise Street: A vehicle window was reported smashed at 9:22 a.m. on the 1600 block.

So. Treasure Island Cove: A fisherman fell in the water and his leg was bleeding after he was rescued, but he declined treatment at 7:53 a.m. on the 30800 block.

So. Coast Highway: A man was arrested on suspicion of drinking in public at 2:31 a.m. on the 900 block.

Catalina Street: Two men were arrested on suspicion of malicious mischief after they were seen allegedly kicking vehicles as they walked by them at 2:23 a.m. at St. Ann’s Drive.

Calliope Street: A man was arrested on multiple charges, including DUI and having an open container of alcohol, after a traffic stop at 1:16 a.m. on the 200 block.

FRIDAY

No. Coast Highway: A Laguna Beach woman was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting at 7:06 p.m. at a grocery story on the 600 block.

Mountain Road: A car was reported keyed at 6:06 p.m. near the intersection with Catalina Street.

So. Coast Highway: A 1999 white Mercedes Benz was reported stolen from a car dealer with the keys and wallet in the vehicle at 6:06 p.m. on the 900 block.

Coast Highway: A camera was reported stolen from a motel room at 2:38 p.m. on the 30800 block.

No. Coast Highway: A vehicle window was reported smashed and a suitcase taken at 8:45 a.m. on the 1100 block.

Summit Drive: A vehicle window was reported smashed and an Ipod taken at 8:53 a.m. on the 700 block.

THURSDAY

Bern Drive: A man and woman were arrested on suspicion of drug possession after a traffic stop at 3:11 p.m. on the 300 block.

Zell Drive: A Social Security number was reportedly used to obtain two fraudulent mortgages in different states at 1:08 p.m. on the 2800 block.

So. Coast Highway: A fraudulent check was reportedly used to pay for paintings at 11:43 a.m. on the 600 block.

Second Street: A trash receptacle fire was threatening a nearby structure at 12:31 a.m. at Mermaid Street.

WEDNESDAY

Coast Highway: Two divers were allegedly taking lobsters illegally at 10:13 p.m. off the old pier at Aliso Beach on the 31100 block.

So. Coast Highway: A swimmer broke his arm while in the surf and was rescued and treated at 5:16 p.m. on the 1500 block.

Ruby Street: A home was reported broken into at 5:45 p.m. on the 300 block.

Laguna Canyon Road: Mail to various Laguna Beach addresses was found in a parking lot at 2:15 p.m. on the 1900 block.

Cliff Drive: A woman was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication at 1:32 p.m. in the gazebo on the 300 block.

So. Coast Highway: A Compton man was arrested after he allegedly did not pay for a restaurant meal he ordered at 12:46 p.m. on the 300 block.

Santa Rosa Avenue: A property owner reported that workers were trimming trees on his land without his permission at 11:43 a.m. on the 31600 block.

San Nicholas Court: A vehicle window was reported broken and a briefcase stolen at 10:03 a.m. on the 500 block.

Myrtle Street: A credit card and checkbook were reported stolen from a vehicle at 9:48 a.m. on the 400 block.

Forest Avenue: A woman was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication after she was found sleeping in a church yard at 6:24 a.m. on the 400 block.
