WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL

Orange Coast def. Santa Ana

SANTA ANA — Kiwi Winkler recorded 16 kills to become the Pirates’ all-time leader in kills with 663 in OCC’s 30-10, 30-15, 30-16 Orange Empire Conference victory Friday.

Winkler entered needing 16 kills to break Melissa Zapian’s two-year-old record. Jacqi Reed added 11 kills and Angela Roberts 27 assists for the Pirates (15-1, 8-1 in conference). Kissa Kent led OCC with 21 digs.

The Pirates return to action Wednesday at 6 p.m., when they play at Fullerton.

MEN’S SOCCER

Orange Coast 1, Cypress 0

CYPRESS — Juan Meza scored on an assist by Ian Cone in the 60th minute for the Pirates’ Orange Empire Conference win Friday.

Alex Roberts recorded four saves for the Pirates (8-6-4, 4-3-3 in conference), who will play at Irvine Valley Tuesday at 3 p.m.

WOMEN’S SOCCER

Orange Coast 7, Cypress 0

IRVINE — Allie Nelson scored three goals to help lead the Pirates to their Orange Empire Conference win Friday.

Ashley Moeller, Loren Kortzija and Nichole Huff both scored a goal and added an assist for OCC (11-6-2, 8-4-1 in conference).

Courtney Hanson also scored one goal, and Kelly Galligan, Melissa Weisz and Kaitlyn Schuesler each finished with an assist. Katie Johnson and Allie Nelson had one save each for the Pirates

WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL

Biola def. Vanguard

LA MIRADA — Freshman Kelsey Wirt’s 16 kills helped stretch No. 16 Biola to four games, but lost 30-19, 24-30, 30-18, 30-20 in the Golden State Athletic Conference match Thursday.

Kim Wynn added 13 kills for Vanguard (12-11, 5-10 in conference). Wirt also led the team with 13 digs. Michala Shortidge added 11 digs and Breeann Peterson had 39 assists.
