Soccer playoffs set

The Vanguard men’s and women’s soccer teams will play host to NAIA Region II quarterfinal playoff games, beginning today.

The Lions’ women (11-4-2), who finished fifth in the Golden State Athletic Conference, face Concordia (10-6-2) today at 1 p.m.

Vanguard’s men (13-2-2), ranked No. 8 in the NAIA and the regular-season GSAC runner-up, will meet Fresno Pacific (10-4-3) Wednesday at 1.

The women’s semifinals are Friday and the men’s are Saturday. The women’s and men’s finals are Nov. 7 and Nov. 11, respectively.

The VU men defeated Fresno Pacific, 1-0, Sept, 27, and the VU women topped Concordia, 2-0, on Oct. 4.
