Festival of Arts launches Diamond Club

The Festival of Arts has created a new Diamond Club donor program to coincide with its 75th anniversary.

The club is restricted to 75 donors on a first-come, first-serve basis. Each member will receive 16 center loge tickets to the Pageant of the Masters on any weekday between July 7 and Aug. 30, dinner at Tivoli Terrace before the show, a pre-show private tour of the Festival of Arts Fine Art Exhibition, a private post-performance discussion with Pageant director Diane Challis Davy and 16 commemorative champagne flutes.

In addition, Diamond Club members will receive special recognition in the Pageant of the Masters souvenir program, a 15% discount at the Festival of Arts on-site gift shop and a commemorative Diamond Club art piece designed by artist Kent Kahlen of Newport Beach, whose hand-blown glass vases, urns, bottles and accessories have been exhibited at the Festival of Arts for nine years.

Diamond Club participation is available for a $7,500 contribution, a portion of which is tax-deductible. It is a separate, exclusive donor club and as such does not carry Festival of Arts membership or voting rights.

No Square Theatre auditions country singers

No Square Theatre is seeking singers for its upcoming country music show. Auditions will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. at Bridge Hall, Neighborhood Congregational Church, 340 St. Ann’s Drive.

Auditioners are asked to show up during that time or e-mail director@nosquare.org for an appointment. At the audition, singers will perform a short country song (guitar or fiddle accompaniment is a plus). Singers should allow one hour for the audition and bring music — a piano player and CD player will be available (no recorded vocals are allowed if a CD is used).

The show, to be held at 8 p.m. Feb. 2 and 3 at Artists’ Theatre, will feature hits by singers like Patsy Cline, Dolly Parton and Johnny Cash. There will be one rehearsal in early December, and as needed on Jan. 12 and Feb. 1. Performers are unpaid.

A rehearsal calendar and audition form are available at www.nosquare.org.
