POLICE FILES - Nov. 9, 2006
The following is from the daily incident log at the Laguna Beach Police Dept:
TUESDAY
SO. COAST HIGHWAY: A stolen car cover was reported at 2:55 p.m. on the 900 block.
EMERALD BAY: A burn victim and another injured person were transported for treatment after a fire was extinguished at 3:01 p.m. on the 1400 block.
FOREST AVENUE: Graffiti was reported at 3:34 p.m. on a building on the 200 block.
BROOKS STREET BEACH: Lifeguards responded to a report at 12:45 p.m. of a man surfing with a dog that appeared to be in distress on the 1200 block.
COAST HIGHWAY: A woman injured her neck, and ambulances were dispatched for other victims, at 9:42 a.m. following a three-vehicle collision at Eagle Rock Way.
BALBOA AVENUE: Graffiti was reported at 6:52 a.m. on restrooms, a bench and trash can at Moulton Meadows Park on the 29900 block.
BROADWAY: A store employee was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of narcotics after police responded to a false robbery/burglary alarm at 12:35 a.m. on the 200 block.
MONDAY
THREE ARCH BAY: A Coast Guard exercise involving flares fired from a vessel caused a report to police of a possible boat in distress at 7:12 p.m. off the coast.
CLIFF DRIVE: A 1994 Ford Explorer was reported stolen at 5:48 p.m. at Coast Highway.
COAST HIGHWAY: Road rage was suspected in a report of something being thrown or shot at high velocity into a vehicle at 2:28 p.m. at Victoria Drive.
FRONTAGE ROAD: A large amount of graffiti was reported at 10:27 a.m. at the grounds of a festival off of Laguna Canyon Road.
MAIN BEACH: A person was given medical assistance at 7:53 a.m. after being found slumped over the steering wheel of a vehicle that was sitting on grass next to a lifeguard tower, having apparently struck a bench on the 100 bock.
SUNDAY
NO. HEISLER PARK: A man reported at 11:36 p.m. that his wallet, containing $20 to $40 and credit cards, was taken from his pants pocket while he walked in the park on the 500 block.
MORNINGSIDE DRIVE: An injured deer was reported at 11:25 a.m. caught in an orange cloth fence on the 1100 block.
DIAMOND STREET: A Newport Beach woman was arrested on suspicion of DUI at 3:54 a.m. at Coast Highway.
COAST HIGHWAY: A Dana Point man was arrested after a report of speed-racing at 2:05 a.m. at Moss Street.
GAVIOTA DRIVE: A New Jersey man was arrested on suspicion of DUI at 1:42 a.m. at Oak Street.
SATURDAY
COAST HIGHWAY: A window was reported smashed on a vehicle on the 30800 block at 10:48 p.m.
SO. COAST HIGHWAY: An Illinois woman was arrested on suspicion of being drunk in public at 9:37 p.m. on the 600 block.
COAST HIGHWAY: A vehicle burglary was reported at 6:53 p.m. on the 30800 block.
SO. COAST HIGHWAY: A man suffering from a cramp was assisted by lifeguards at 3:12 p.m. after going underwater and being rescued about 20 yards out at sea by five people on the 600 block.
LAGUNA CANYON ROAD: A person was arrested at 1:21 p.m. on suspicion of drug possession after a traffic stop at the 73 Toll Road.
SO. COAST HIGHWAY: A woman reported at 1:21 p.m. that her purse had been taken the night before at a hotel on the 400 block.
CATALINA AVENUE: A forged check, cashed for $5,000, was reported at 9:34 a.m. on the 31500 block.
LAGUNA CANYON ROAD: An Irvine man was arrested on suspicion of DUI at 1:49 a.m. at Canyon Acres Drive.
COAST HIGHWAY: Two Tustin men were arrested at 1:44 a.m., one on suspicion of DUI and one on suspicion of drug possession, following an incident in which bottles of alcohol were allegedly thrown at a car near a restaurant at Forest Avenue.
FRIDAY
THOUSAND STEPS BEACH: Police responded to a bonfire at 9:52 p.m. on the 3200 block.
BROADWAY: Petty theft in the amount of $107 was reported at 8:30 p.m. on the 200 block.
SO. COAST HIGHWAY: Petty theft of a hamburger was reported at 7:07 p.m. from a restaurant on the 100 block.
MAIN BEACH: An Oklahoma man was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication at 6:01 p.m. on the 100 block.
SO. COAST HIGHWAY: A drug arrest was made following a traffic stop at 3:34 p.m. on the 100 block.
