Check out which council people have mandatesCosta Mesa City Councilwoman Katrina Foley was recently quoted as saying Allan Mansoor’s vote total of 25.8% was “hardly a mandate.”
How would Foley then characterize her winning vote total of 15.8% in 2004? A check of the last four elections, back to 2000, showed that Mansoor had the second-highest percentage vote total on record and Wendy Leece had the third-highest.
It is clear that Costa Mesa residents view our growing illegal immigration situation as a problem that should be addressed on the city level, as other cities with similar problems have done.

Keep the pledge; it suits most AmericansI’m definitely in favor of the Pledge of Allegiance, and I think all of our schools should use the pledge. I think the atheists are small numbered compared with all the rest of people who do believe in God, so it shouldn’t be wrong to say the words “under God” in the pledge.
I’m definitely for it.

Students against pledge need history lessonI believe that the Orange Coast College students need to have a refresher course on the history of our country. I think they need to take a serious look at that. I don’t agree with them not saying the pledge. Perhaps they need to go visit other countries.
