SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO — Sea Kings senior captain Brian Burke scored two goals and assisted on another to lead Corona del Mar to a nonleague victory in its season opener Monday.

Burke assisted on a first-half goal from Carlos Diaz, then scored unassisted when he dribbled 45 yards while chased by three defenders and hit a penalty shot after he was taken down in the box. Reed Williams scored in the seventh minute, assisted by Patrick Suazzi and Amen Sahni had five saves.

Lakewood 78, Estancia 57

BUENA PARK — Senior guard Blake Pinto scored a game-high 37 points fueled by nine three-pointers, but the Eagles lost in their season opener in first round of pool play of the Buena Park Tournament Monday.

Taylor McClanahan scored eight points for Estancia which was only outscored by three following the first quarter of play.
