HUNTINGTON BEACH — Jamie McGee scored a career-high 33 points to lead the Lightning to finish seventh place at the Brethren Christian Tournament Saturday.

Connor Rose also scored a career-high with 20 points. He also grabbed nine rebounds and dished out three assists. Nick Witte contributed nine assists, one block and one steal.

Sage Hill (1-3) will return to action Wednesday at 7 p.m., when it will play host to Beckman.

Battle by the Bay

NEWPORT BEACH — Newport Harbor, the host along with Corona del Mar, finished with a 4-4 record at the dual-meet, 16-team tournament.

Josh George was 7-1 in the 135-pound division, recording four pins and one major decision. He also collected two forfeits. Bryan Bennett, in the 215-pound division, was 6-2 with five pins. Brian Breaudette, wrestling in the heavyweight division, was also 6-2 with five pins.

CdM finished 2-5 in the tournament and Estancia was 1-6.

Western defeated Santa Ana Valley, 38-28, to win the tournament.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

Santa Margarita 62, Newport Harbor 28

IRVINE — Lindsay Anderson scored a team-high six points for the Sailors in their pool-play loss of the University Tourament.

Amber Munnelly and Ivy Melo added five points each for the Sailors (1-2).
