Newport Harbor 10, Irvine 4

IRVINE — Sarah Roberts scored four goals to help lead the Newport Harbor High girls water polo team to its first win of the season Friday.

Jillian Chiapuzio added two goals, five steals and an assist for Newport Harbor (1-1), which plays at Bishop’s today at 11 a.m.

AGOURA — The Sea Kings couldn’t come back from a 9-4 deficit after three quarters against Agoura which is the No. 3-ranked team in CIF Southern Section Division II.

Junior Allison Peotter scored a team-high three goals for Corona del Mar (2-1). The Sea Kings, ranked No. 3 in Division I, face Santa Barbara, the No. 1-ranked team in Division II, today.

ANAHEIM — Jamie McGee scored a game-high 21 points Nick Witte added 17 points for the Lightning, which dropped a pool-play game at the Husky Invitational at Fairmont Prep on Wednesday.

Sage Hill School (4-5) will play in the championship game today at 7 p.m.

ORANGE — Stephanie Garrison scored 10 points to help lead the Lightning to the pool-play win in the Orange Tournament Friday.

Tierney Danner added nine points for the Lightning (2-1).

Danner and Garrison grabbed six rebounds each.

Sage Hill will face Katella today at 9 a.m. and will also play again later in the day at Orange High.

IRVINE — The Eagles stormed back from an early, 2-0, deficit to win their first game of pool play in the Irvine Tournament Friday.

Nushin Tasbichi had two goals, making it four in two games, Avery Williams had one goal, for three goals in two games, and junior Stacy McDaniels scored as well.

Madison Urtusuastegui made four saves for the Eagles (5-4-1).

Estancia faces Fullerton, which won the tournament last year, at 11 a.m. today then Tustin at 6:30 p.m. with both games at Heritage Park.

Viewpoint 4, Sage Hill 1

CALABASAS — Viewpoint scored two goals in the final four minutes to ice the game, as the Lightning lost the nonleague contest Friday.

Senior midfielder Rachel Haber scored for the Lightning (1-3-2). Jules McLaughlin had the assist.

BOYS’ SOCCER

Fullerton 3, Newport Harbor 1

FULLERTON -- Evan Walker scored in the 30th minute, but the Sailors’ dropped the nonleague match on the road. Garrett Heiser had the assist for Newport (2-3), which plays at home Wednesday against Irvine at 5 p.m.
