MEN’S BASKETBALL

Orange Coast 85, L.A. Harbor 59

COSTA MESA — Steve Cornett scored a game-high 20 points to lead the Pirates to the decisive nonconference victory on Thursday.

Cameron Wise added 13 points and five assists for the Pirates (8-7). Diego Delgado was also in double-digit scoring with 11 points, while Josh Poitevin and Joe Nwabuzor scored 10 points each.

Nwabuzor produced a double-double, grabbing 10 rebounds. L.A. Harbor dropped to 3-10.

The Pirates return to action in the San Jose City Tournament, which is Wednesday through Friday.

IRVINE — Angie Ned scored 21 points but the Anteaters lost the nonconference game against Army, 83-69, Thursday at Bren Events Center.

Stephanie Duda scored 16 points on six-of-12 shooting and grabbed 12 rebounds for UC Irvine (2-9). Miranda Forry came off the bench to score 18 points on six-of-nine shooting, hitting both her three-point attempts and four of five free throws.
