I think it’s a wonderful idea, and I wouldn’t even mind having my property taxes raised to help pay for it. As far as the $65,000 grant, I’m not too sure — I don’t think that would do any good. I would rather have that money go to the Police Department.

I’m for the Costa Mesa gang injunction.

VIVIEN CHAPMAN

They absolutely, positively ought to do something about the gangs. I lived in Costa Mesa up until probably 1986. We never had any of the garbage going on that goes on on the Westside of Costa Mesa. My friend lives by a park over there, and the gangs come down there, and I see the mothers who are paying property taxes here in town, and they flee the park because of those creeps. Of course I think they ought to — they should have started the Immigration and Customs Enforcement guys over at the jail about 10 years ago. And also I think that work center — that was absolutely a disaster — destroyed that side of town.

Absolutely, positively I think they ought to ban gangs. Why don’t we stop the terrorism here in our own country before we go over to other countries and stop terrorists? Those guys are terrorists.

Yes, they do need a gang injunction. My kids live here, as well as my wife and I, and I don’t want the trouble. If the parents can’t baby-sit their kids and raise them right, I guess the courts will. That’s my opinion.

I’m responding to protest the gangs that are on the Westside of Costa Mesa.

TOM CARSON

Yes it does. It’s way past due.
