Corona del Mar 1, Beckman 0CORONA DEL MAR — Junior Paolo Iaccarino scored the game-winning goal in the 79th minute to lead the Sea Kings to the Pacific Coast League victory Friday.

Sophomore Brian Yasukochi assisted on the goal.

“It was a great goal,” CdM Coach Pat Callaghan said.

Iaccarino beat the goalie, who came out, by kicking the ball off the outside of his right foot and into the goal.

Senior goalkeeper Aman Sahni recorded seven saves for Corona del Mar (5-10-2, 3-2 in league). Sahni had a crucial diving save late in the game.

Callaghan said senior Patrick Suozzi performed well, playing in place of senior Brian Burke, who was out because of illness.

The Sea Kings will play host to Laguna Hills on Wednesday.

Estancia 2, Laguna Beach 1COSTA MESA — Sophomore George Olivas and junior Jose Rodriguez scored to keep the Eagles perfect in Orange Coast League play Friday.

Senior Denny Perdomo and Rodriguez picked up assists while senior goalkeeper Daniel Calderon made five saves for Estancia (9-3-5, 5-0 in league).

Newport Harbor 1, Edison 1NEWPORT BEACH — The Sailors came back to earn a tie in the Sunset League match with a second-half goal from Brian Siemonsma Friday.

Newport Harbor is now 9-6-4, 3-2-2 in league with three league games remaining.

Calvary Chapel 1, Costa Mesa 0COSTA MESA — German Briseño made six saves, but the Mustangs dropped the Orange Coast League game Friday.

Costa Mesa fell to 3-10-2, 1-4 in league.

Corona del Mar 70, Beckman 23CORONA DEL MAR — Sea Kings junior Joe Eberhard had 20 points, including five three-pointers, to lead CdM, ranked No. 5 in CIF Southern Section Division III-A, in the Pacific Coast League home game Friday.

Stefan Kaluz added 12 points and 13 rebounds for the Sea Kings (15-7, 4-1 in league), who led, 38-9, at halftime.

Corona del Mar plays host to first-place Laguna Hills (4-0 in league) Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.

The Sailors, who played without Kyle Caldwell who was resting strained tendons in his ankle, missed three foul shots in the final 17 seconds.

Senior David Holmes had 10 for Newport Harbor (13-5, 4-2 in league).

Newport Harbor defeated Edison, coached by former Estancia High head man Rich Boyce, 49-41, in the league opener Jan. 5.
