Dr. Robert A Crawford Optometrist, longstanding and honored member of the community, beloved husband and father passed away Jan 28, 2007. He was born in

Traer Iowa and came to Los Angeles on his own at age 17 and worked his way through USC and Optometry School. Some of his many accomplishments over 96 years include: served 3 years during WWII in Williams Field Az. Medical staff; instrumential in establishing a businessmen’s association for Costa Mesa in 1946; active in incorporating Costa Mesa as a city in 1953 as well as serving as 1953 Chamber of Commerce President and 7 years as its secretary; served 7 years as Chairman of the Costa Mesa Salvation Army; 40 year Kiwanian; injoyed his profession of optometry for over 60 years. He was always active in the Christian Science Church.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 58 years, Eula and 2 daughters Kathleen Ramp and Jeanne Crawford. In lieu of flowers the family request any contributions be made the First Church of Christ Science, Newport Beach.
