OCC spring enrollment up

Orange Coast College saw its spring student enrollment increase 6.1% from a year ago when the new semester started Monday.

The campus reported 20,903 students signed up for spring classes, an increase of 1,205 students from last spring. Although the semester began Monday, other classes will start in the coming weeks, and the school expects to have 25,000 students by May.

Nancy Kidder, OCC’s dean of enrollment services, said there was still enough room for student applicants to sign up for a full load of classes.

“Enrollment has been heavy this spring, but we’ve added 157 course sections to our schedule, so we have room for growth,” she said in a release.
