Jane Glenn Haas, founder of WomenSage, and the Girl Scout Council of Orange County are this year’s honorees at the Soroptimist International of Newport Harbor’s “Matters of the Heart” luncheon at 11:00 a.m. Feb. 9.
The luncheon will be held at the Turnip Rose, 1901 Newport Blvd.,at Grand Newport Plaza in Costa Mesa.
Tickets for the luncheon are still available and are $60 for a single, $110 for two and $400 for a table of eight.
The event will also include a reception, auction and “opportunity drawing.”
Soroptimist, founded in 1921, is an international organization for business and professional women who volunteer service to their communities.
Soroptimist International of the Newport Harbor Area was established in 1955 and is comprised of professional and business women from Costa Mesa and Newport Beach.

ROTARY UNIVERSITY
Local attorney John Brainerd and his wife Pat joined 530 district governor elects and their spouses from 60 countries in San Diego this past week as they received the necessary training at Rotary’s International Assembly before they assume their one-year leadership position.
Brainerd will become Dist. 5320 governor, presiding over 49 Rotary clubs in Orange and Southern Los Angeles Counties with 2,300 members.
