THE LAST WORD:Saul inspires others while battling cancer

There’s an old saying that God doesn’t give people tests that they can’t handle.

If that’s true, God sure thinks Rich Saul can handle a lot.

Saul, a former NFL pro-bowler who played center for the Los Angeles Rams, has been battling cancer for some eight years.

But on top of that, he has seen cancer claim the life of his older brother and afflict his twin brother as well.

Unbowed by this burden, Saul keeps his spirits high and has spent years battling this scourge of a disease, raising hundreds of thousands of dollars in the effort.

For his work in this area, he was recently awarded the Patient Courage Award from the American Cancer Society.

All you have to do is listen to him talk for a few minutes about his battle with cancer to know why.

“Instead of just talking about it, I can tell you about it. I’ve had five different forms of chemo. I’ve had radiation. What do you want to know about it?

“People listen now. God gave me another platform to go out and make a difference in the world, reach out to people and hopefully touch some lives.”

We assure you, Rich, you have touched many lives.

And we know you will continue to touch many more.
