HILLGREN SIGNS TODAY

Corona del Mar High wide receiver and defensive back Steven Hillgren will sign a letter of intent to play football at Georgetown University today, which is the first day seniors can sign with Division I programs.

Hillgren, the Newport-Mesa Dream Team MVP, finished with 52 receptions for 932 yards and 11 touchdowns. Hillgren, an All-CIF Southern Section Southern Division pick, also had nine interceptions and returned two kickoffs for touchdowns.

Sage Hill senior receiver Braden Ross will play football at Trinity College, a Division III program in Hartford, Conn. Ross, an All-CIF Southern Section Northeast Division selection, recorded a Newport-Mesa-best 66 catches for 1,092 yards.
