Sage Hill 11, Estancia 8COSTA MESA — Lightning sophomore Dylan Conroy had five goals, three assists and three steals for Sage Hill in its Orange Coast League win Wednesday at Estancia.

Sarah Wesley added three goals and two assists for Sage Hill (12-6, 3-3). Senior Melissa Buchmann had four goals for Estancia (12-12, 0-6).

Sage Hill’s win, combined with Costa Mesa’s loss Wednesday at Laguna Beach, leaves the two teams tied for the second CIF Southern Section Division II playoff berth out of the Orange Coast League. The Mustangs and Lightning will play Friday at a time and site to be determined, in a game to decide the spot.

Junior Mimi Bury scored twice and seniors Kelly Morrison, Jillian Chiapuzio, Katie Holly, Allyssa Peterson and Sarah Roberts all added goals for the Sailors (18-9, 5-0 in league).

All Newport Harbor seniors played in the game, also including Marisa Cottam (four steals), Betsy Martin and Devon Shaw. Chiapuzio had three steals.

The Sailors will begin their CIF Southern Section Division I title defense next week, against an opponent to be determined Monday.
