Spartans score early, often

Christopher Pichedwatana and Erik Jervik came up big offensively and the Spartans earned a big victory against the Blackhawks, 8-2, in Wales Division play at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach.

Pichedwatana posted four goals and an assist and Jervik added three goals and an assist to pace the Spartans. Ashley Woody scored the other goal and also had an assist.

Anthony Tullio and William Engelke each had assists for the Spartans.

Jacob Sabraw scored both Blackhawks goals, one off a feed from Slater Hoar, and Jayce Borski had 31 saves.

In other Wales Division action

Bullfrogs 8, Thrashers 1

The Bullfrogs outscored the Thrashers 6-0 over the final two quarters to pull away for the win.

Seven Bullfrogs scored, led by two goals from Zach Hoskins. Troy Baljeu, Trevor Millikan, Alex McCabe, Jadin Press, Alex Cook and Kyle Haymond also scored. Haymond and Press each had two assists and Cook, McCabe, Millikan and Baljeu each had one assist.

Brad Giczewski had 13 saves.

Andrew Powers scored the lone Thrashers goal.

Ice Dogs 6, Warriors 1

The Ice Dogs jumped out to an early 3-0 lead and skated past the Warriors.

Matthew Moore worked the net for five of the Ice Dogs’ six goals, with the other being scored by Kandice Ehret.

Ehret also led the team with three assists, Alec Schartner and Kyle Rohling had two assists and Moore had one. Andrew Skowron finished with 13 saves.

Matthew Bennett scored for the Warriors and Jonathan Cao had 15 saves.
