Numbers from city’s jail are alarmingThe latest figures regarding the criminal activity of illegal immigrants booked into the Costa Mesa jail shows how widespread criminal activity is among illegal immigrants, (“Immigration charges up for month,” Jan. 30) Multiply the 58 people who were booked in January by the thousands of communities in the United States and the number is alarming, and the cost of processing them through the justice system is staggering. I commend Mayor Allan Mansoor for his efforts to enforce the law.

Keep up the good work of keeping people safeI think they’re doing a great job, and I hope they keep it up. I just hope they get all these criminals off the streets and also get these people that are here illegally back to their countries of origin. Keep up the good work, Mayor Allan Mansoor.

City is being misled; wrong people arrestedI see these arrests of people who are just hardworking people who are supporting the Costa Mesa economy. I don’t understand how we can arrest people, put them in jail and charge the taxpayers for putting them in jail for jaywalking, for goodness sake? And riding a bicycle? I think the people of Costa Mesa are being misled by two people, Councilwoman Wendy Leece and Mayor Allan Mansoor, and I think it’s really sick.
