They showed them.

For those students who wanted to learn more about government, the Costa Mesa City Council showed them who rules their playground.

They showed them who’s boss.

Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah.

The council majority of Allan Mansoor, Eric Bever and Wendy Leece showed them how to dig in their heels and act with no small amount of petulance. They showed them that if you don’t follow their rules, you can’t play their game.

Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah.

And the other side, Linda Dixon and Katrina Foley, well, they couldn’t find any way to compromise either. They showed them. If you don’t get what you want, take your marbles and go home.

That’s what politics is all about, right? Forget about community or setting examples. If politicians don’t get what they want, they have every right to throw a tantrum.

Yeah, they sure showed them. They showed those kids that the Costa Mesa City Council cannot agree on something as simple as a youth-in-government program.

They showed them that the Costa Mesa City Council really doesn’t want anything to do with the youth in this community.

Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah.

We’re just left wondering, who are the real adults here?
