Pro-Ams vs. Groms at the pier

The Notion Clothing/AntiApparel Surf Series hit the waves around the Huntington Beach Pier Saturday for a six-event competition that drew surfers of all ages.

Split into two divisions — Pro-Am and Grom — for surfers 17 and under, cash and product prizes were awarded for first- through fourth places.

The competition offered free food and beverages as well as product giveaways and an after-party at Sharkeez on Main Street.

The winners in the Pro-Am division were Matt King, Chris Waring, Jason Harris and Matt Mohegan. For the Grom division, Eddie Ellis, Johnny Thomas, Porter Hogan and Drew Poff took top honors.
