IRVINE — Ryan Knapp shot a one-under-par 35 to earn medalist honors for the Eagles in their season opener Monday at Oak Creek Golf Course.

Estancia’s other top four players were Drew Bertoni (41), Andrew Ayala (42), Storm Hagen (42) and Pat Flannery (49).

COSTA MESA — The Mustangs fell, 25-11, 25-7, 25-13, Monday to the highly-touted Griffins in their nonleague season opener.

Sophomore Ben Lefebvre began his conversion from outside hitter to setter and seniors Scott Neslage and Phiillip Webber provided blocks inside for the Mustangs.

GARDEN GROVE — The Eagles won seven out of nine singles sets, but were swept in doubles in the nonleague match Monday.

Junior Bradley Fisher began the role of filling former No. 1 singles player Scott Braunsdorf’s shoes by sweeping his three sets, winning 18 of 20 games.

Sophomore Ely Zaidler swept at No. 2 singles for the Eagles.
