was born June 18, 1964 in West Allis, Wisconsin. Besides living in Wisconsin on two separate occasions, she lived in Boston, Massachusetts and Seminole, Florida. The family moved to Huntington Beach, CA in January of 1976. Sandy went to be with her Lord on February 17, 2007. She was 42.

She graduated from Huntington Beach High School in 1982 and Brooks College of Long Beach, CA in 1984. She worked in the fashion industry for several years and had begun to pursue a law degree when she became ill.

Sandy was married to Don Schmitz in 1994. Her children are Donald (11); Kade (9); and Danika (7). Other survivors include her parents Marlene and Norm Dyson of Huntington Beach, CA. A brother Deryl and wife Patsy of Fountain Valley, CA; a sister Teresa and husband Bill of Huntington Beach, CA; nieces Emily Dyson and Klara Kettler of Huntington Beach, CA; nephews Eric Dyson and Tommy Kettler of Fountain Valley, CA and a grandmother Zella Dyson of Concordia Kansas.

A celebration of her life will be held at the First Christian Church in Huntington Beach on March 3.
