Red Bulls charge past Sharp Shooters

The Red Bulls outlasted the Sharp Shooters in a high-scoring Bantam Club Division match to skate away with a 10-7 victory at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach.

The teams traded goal for goal after the Red Bulls had taken a 3-1 first-quarter lead.

Dario Torres scored four goals to pace the Red Bulls offense. Mark Miller scored three goals, and Kian Rhodes, Jimmy Hocker and Jeremy Jennings each scored once.

Hocker topped the team in assists with three. Torres and Bobby Sowma each had two assists, and Miller, Jennings, Rhodes and Joel Dapello all had an assist.

Kyle Morrill and Nicholas Jezulin teamed for 16 saves.

Damian Raburn scored the first and last goals for the Sharp Shooters and finished with three overall in addition to picking up an assist.

Ricky May also scored three goals and had an assist, Cody Charnell scored once, and Nathan Bergeron and Billy Borrmann each had an assist.

Casey Childers recorded 18 saves.

In other Bantam Club action

HB Vipers 10, Young Guns 8

The HB Vipers led by four goals through two quarters of play, then held off a late charge by the Young Guns to post the victory.

Jeff Fuzzard scored three goals to lead a Vipers offense that included two goals apiece by Robert Oliver and Austin Shannon, and single goals by Kai Ane, Carson Beith and Jared Hackworth.

Ane also collected three assists, Oliver had two, and Beith, Fuzzard and Shannon each had one.

Ryan Harrison finished with 19 saves.

Tyler Lakes scored five of the first six goals by the Young Guns and also had an assist. Kelan Stuart scored twice and dished out four assists, Colten Daigneault had a goal and assist, and Christopher Lowry had two assists. Tori Gianformaggio had 29 saves.

Mission And 1 8, Young Guns 7

Mission And 1 outscored the Young Guns, 2-1, in the final quarter to pull out the win.

Matty Nolan, Mitchel Gonzales and Mason Lomeli each scored twice, and Jordan Wallace scored once for Mission And 1. Nolan also had a team-high four assists.

Matt Storm had 24 saves.

Kelan Stuart scored three goals with two assists to lead the Young Guns offensively. Brian Daigneault, Andrew Wade, Tyler Bertrand and Christopher Lowry each scored once.

Tyler Lakes had three assists, and Wade and Bertrand each had one.
