Penguins’ late run beats Slashers

The Penguins posted three goals in the final period, and the late flurry resulted in a 4-2 Campbell Division victory over the Slashers at the Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach.

Shane Geller scored two goals, Cole Geller and Jared Nelson each scored once, and John Elliot and Shane Sandoval each had an assist for the Penguins.

Ian Gibbons finished with 10 saves.

Shane Begg and Scott Begg scored goals, and Tyler Beardshear had 21 saves for the Slashers.

In other Campbell Division action

Super Troopers 6, Breakaways 3

The Super Troopers outscored the Breakaways, 3-0, over the final two periods to get the win.

Amanda Vongries scored three goals and had an assist, Parker Murchison scored twice with an assist, Jackson Wozniak scored once, Brandon Ha and Steven Grubbs each had an assist, and Chris Hernandez recorded 15 saves for the Super Troopers.

Williams Brines scored twice, Trenton Buyan once, Cole Pavlik had an assist and Josh Valadez had 27 saves for the Breakaways.

Mustangs 2, HB Psychos 1

Jacob Olson scored the game-winning goal in the final period to lift the Mustangs past the Psychos.

The other Mustangs goal came when Robby Watson scored off a Blake Luevano assist. Trenton Shehan recorded 27 saves.

Christopher Bos-teruya scored off a feed from Cole Kennedy and Chris Pabitzky had 21 saves for the Psychos.

Ducks 7, Shooters 5

Jonah Mack and Jake Gealy both scored three goals to help get the Ducks past the Shooters.

Justin Ferrall scored the other Ducks goal. Trevor Staffieri had three assists, Gealy two, and Mack and Ferrall one each.

Tyler Gealy had 18 saves.

Charley Lowe’s two goals paced the Shooters on offense. J.J. Muratore had a goal and assist, Keanu Maunula and Casey Taylor both scored once, Shane Cupp and Ashley Sabers each had an assist, and Aaron Maccabi had 27 saves.

You Wish 4, Hot Wheels 1

You Wish scored the final three goals of the match to pull way from the Hot Wheels.

Jake Arnold scored twice, Julia Wong and Nicholas Pash each scored once, Cassie Moan and Jordan Reichenbach had assists, and Nikolas St. Onge 14 saves for You Wish.

Preston Yamasaki scored the only Hot Wheels goal, and Corey Childers had 19 saves.
