Indvik Pacific Coast League MVP

Corona del Mar High girls’ water polo senior Katie Indvik was recently named Pacific Coast League Most Valuable Player.

Teammates Cari Levine, Sarah Hutchison and goalie Kate Murphy, all seniors, were named first-team All-Pacific Coast League. Senior Haley Prickett made the second team, while senior Paige O’Brien and sophomore Heather Van Hiel were honorable mention.

Indvik, a driver who has committed to play collegiately at USC, had a team-high 52 goals for Corona del Mar (24-10), which finished 4-0 in league to earn their eighth consecutive PCL title. She had 34 steals and was named to the all-tournament team at the Santa Barbara Tournament of Champions.

Levine, who has committed to play water polo at Princeton, had 37 goals for CdM. She also had 42 steals and recorded at least three or more steals seven times, including a season-high five against Beckman on Jan. 10, and was also named to the Tournament of Champions all-tournament team.

Hutchison scored 38 goals for CdM. She also had 19 steals, including a team-high four against Newport Harbor in a Back Bay rivalry game on Dec. 21. Hutchison was also named to the Irvine Southern California Championships all-tournament team.

Murphy, headed to UC Santa Barbara, had 145 saves for the Sea Kings. She had one of her biggest games of the season against Newport Harbor in the Holiday Cup finals on Dec. 30, when she blocked three penalty shots in the Sea Kings’ 5-4 win.
