Newport Beach resident Lindy Tolbert received the Violet Richardson Award — given to girls between 14 and 17 in recognition of outstanding volunteer service — from the Soroptimist International, Newport Harbor Area, at the annual International Women’s Day awards luncheon at the Santa Ana Country Club on March 7.

Lindy devoted over 900 hours of volunteer time to homeless individuals and families through her association with Serving People in Need.

Costa Mesa resident Jessica Amzoll, a senior at California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks, made the dean’s list for the fall 2006 semester.

Costa Mesa resident Daniel de Arakal, a freshman at Chapman University in Orange, was named to the provost’s list for the fall 2006 semester.
