Who Cares tames Bulldogs

Who Cares jumped out to a two-goal lead through two quarters of play in their Howe Division match Tuesday against the Bulldogs, then held on for a 2-1 victory at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach.

Goals by Jake Beardshear off an assist from Lawrence Benavente and by Derek Slayton in the second quarter gave Who Cares a 2-0 lead. The Bulldogs drew to within 2-1 in the third quarter, when Trevor Brenden set up a goal by Chris Martinez but could get no closer.

Jessica Baltazar had 20 saves for Who Cares, and Dylan Moan had 32 for the Bulldogs.

Neither team could score in overtime as this evenly played match ended in a tie score.

Evan Hess, Jake Rennison and Carson Gibbs scored goals, Manny Banuelos and Steven Landis had assists and Brad Giczewski recorded 28 saves for the Hawks.

Andrew Medrano scored twice, Travis Bertrand once and Jeremy Corwin had an assist for the Kings.

TnT 6, The Meatballs 5

Garrett Blackwell and Brandon Sizemore each scored two goals as TnT held off The Meatballs.

Johnny Richardson and Marcus Kurth also scored. Blackwell also had two assists, Sizemore, Richardson, Kurth and Andrew Staffieri each had an assist, and Jack Miller finished with 35 saves.

Kristian Burkhardt scored twice with an assist to lead The Meatballs. Drew Sorbom and Ethan Loy each had a goal and assist, Ethan Higbee scored once and Kasey Kunichika had an assist for TnT.
