Breakers stay put in volleyball poll
The Laguna Beach High boys’ volleyball team again held down the No. 6 spot in the latest CIF-Southern Section Division II poll.
The Breakers were ranked sixth last week, and the rest of the top 10 also remained the same from last week.
Division II poll: 1. Corona del Mar; 2. Santa Barbara; 3. Valencia/Valencia; 4. Dos Pueblos; 5. San Marcos; 6. Laguna Beach; 7. Arcadia; 8. Claremont; 9. Santa Ynez; 10. Canyon/Canyon Country.
City tennis to hold 50th event
The Laguna Beach Tennis Tournament will celebrate its 50th year of competition with tournament play set for the weekends of April 21-22 and 28-29. Events include men’s and women’s singles, doubles and mixed 2.0 through Open play. A Youth/Experience doubles event that will pair a young player with an adult also will be held.
Entries close April 6. Late entries may be accepted but are not guaranteed a spot. Singles’ play entry is $30 per player and doubles play $40 per pair. Payment should be sent to City of Laguna Beach, Tennis Tournament, Laguna Beach Community Services Dept., 515 Forest Avenue, 92651.
Entry forms are available at courts in Laguna Beach, the Community Services Dept., and by request at allcourt tennis@hotmail.com.
