Police search for 3 in Costa Mesa robbery

Costa Mesa police are searching for three men who reportedly robbed a home at gunpoint.

According to police, the men knocked on the door of an apartment in the 1700 block of East Mesa Verde Drive. Once the victim opened the door, one of the three robbers pulled out a gun and demanded entry into the apartment, Sgt. Marty Carver said.

The men allegedly took two watches, a 42-inch flat screen TV, a computer monitor, a cellphone and some cash, police said. The three men left through the front door and have not been seen since. There were no witnesses who saw or heard any vehicles, police said.

Two of the men were described as black and in their 20s. One was described as 5-feet-8, 220 pounds, with a black, flattop haircut, crooked upper front teeth and wearing a white shirt, police said. The second man was 6 feet tall, 165 pounds, with short, black, curly hair, a goatee and mustache, wearing dark pants and a pair of pantyhose over his hair, police said.

The third suspect was described by police as Persian, in his mid 20s, 5-feet-6, with black, collar-length hair and a goatee. He was wearing a black, button-down shirt and blue jeans, police said.
