Crandall, a senior two-meter defender for Costa Mesa, did well in her first season with Coach Tim Postiff’s Mustangs after transferring from Fountain Valley.

She played much of her best water polo in the most important games, helping hold Sage Hill to two goals in a CIF Southern Section Division II playoff-clinching win on Feb. 9.

Nuñez, a junior, led the Mustangs with 66 goals, including seven in a 12-11 win over Estancia. She had the deciding goal on a power play in that game.

Nuñez also scored Costa Mesa’s only goal in the Mustangs’ 11-1 playoff-opening loss to Mira Costa.

Conroy, a sophomore, showed a solid all-around game. She scored 45 goals and had 77 steals in helping the Lightning post a 13-7 record.

Wesley, a junior, had 30 goals and a team-high 84 steals.

Buchmann, a senior two-meter player, scored 101 goals, fifth in Orange County single-season annals. She scored at least one goal in every game for the Eagles (12-13).
