Connor Curry and Daron Arnold also won three sets at No. 1 doubles for Newport Harbor (5-3, 3-0 in league), which will play host to Esperanza on Tuesday.

Estancia (8-3, 3-0 in league) finished undefeated in the first round of league play.

Edison 101, Newport Harbor 35Newport Harbor 91, Edison 45HUNTINGTON BEACH — Jessica Robson continued her torrid pace, picking up three victories for the Sailors in the Sunset League dual meet Thursday.

Robson won the 100-meter hurdles in 15.8 seconds, took the long jump nearly a foot and a half with 16-9 and the high jump at 5-4. Robson is tied for the top mark in the state in the high jump this season at 5-10.

Taylor Bryson was a double winner for Newprot Harbor, taking the 800 and 1,600 in 2:25.5 and 5:08.1 respectively and beating Edison’s Hilary Hayes for the first time. Cassidy Gayner was also a double winner, in the 400 (1:00.7) and the 300 hurdles (47.9).

On the boys’ side sophomore Jake Dawson was the lone winner for the Sailors, winning the 3,200 in 10:04.7.
